Travelogue 27/5/22 - Timber in Heritage Conservation by Arkitek Punca Cipta

Based on my observation, buildings sit beside the main road is considered as a characteristic of Terengganu. I thought we will visit a firm in a commercial area. Then we arrived to a residential building that combined with office. We reached Arkitek Punca Cipta at 8pm night. The space is multi-functional and flexible, The host is very friendly and we were served with good food. However, the space for the dialogue is a bit small as we have around 40 people. I was sitting at the last row and most of us behind couldn't listen clearly to the speaker but we still managed to pay attention on what was presented.

I think this dialogue is good to put at the first place before we continue our journey to other places in Terengganu. It told us about timber knowledge, such as the characteristic, how to treat timber, what are the pain point and how the architect solve the problem and then fulfil the need of cllent. Frankly saying, I never has a chance to participate in timber architecture during my part 1 practical. I wish one day there will be timber construction project happen in my workplace.
